Mr. Walter Franklin Williams, Jr., 86, of Anderson, Missouri, passed away in the comfort of his home on January 13, 2016.
Frank entered life on December 23, 1929, in Geary, Oklahoma. He spent his adolescent years in the Tipton, California area and graduated from Tulare Union High School in 1949. Frank completed an Associates degree in Music Education at Compton Junior College in 1951. He was drafted to the Army in 1952 and completed his service as a member of the Army Band in the Hawaiian Islands. Frank moved to Wichita, Kansas and married the love of his life, Alberta Lowe, on November 22, 1958. He moved the family to rural Anderson, Missouri in 1970 to pursue a lifetime love of farming, woodworking, and gardening. Frank continued to pursue his music career playing saxophone and clarinet as a member of several local bands where he was known as “Walt” to his music colleagues. Since retiring from farming, he continued gardening and working around the farm on various projects. He was affectionately known as “Papa Frank” and influenced the lives of many local children who attended child care at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Bonnie Williams.
Frank is survived by his wife, Alberta Williams of the home, son, Wally Williams and wife, Rhonda, and grandchildren Ashley and Scott, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, daughter, Melissa Williams Brouillette and husband, Kyle, and grandchildren Haley, Matthew, Zachary, and Makenzie, of Anderson, Missouri, sister, Gaynell White and family of Fiddletown, California, and a host of other family, friends, and honorary grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be held from 2 - 4 pm on Saturday, January 16, at First Christian Church, 311 Jefferson St, Anderson, Missouri. The eulogy and opportunity to share memories will begin at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Frank’s honor to the charity of your choice.
