Johnny R. Shields, 47, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO. Johnny Ray Shields was born December 23, 1968 in Carthage, MO, the son of John M. Shields and Glenda (Duncan) Root. After he finished school, he worked as a laborer in many areas. Johnny was a member of the Mt. Vernon Methodist Mission, Mt. Vernon, MO.
Survivors include his parents; one daughter; Dakota (husband Barron) Seiferd, Sarcoxie, MO; one brother; Mark Shields, Avilla, MO; and one granddaughter; Sage Seiferd.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Doug Shields.
Visitation will be held 1:00-2:00 pm, Friday, January 29, 2016 at Stone Bible Chapel in La Russell, MO with a funeral service following at 2:00 pm. Rev. David Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Fellowship Cemetery, La Russell, MO. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com.
