Leon D. Borusheski, age 63, of Joplin, Missouri passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Freeman Hospital following an illness.
He was born February 3, 1952 in Joplin, Missouri to Leo and Dorothy (Washeck) Borusheski.
Leon was employed by Wal-Mart for 25 years and most recently worked in the sporting goods department at the West 7th Street store. He enjoyed drag racing and basketball and was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Leon graduated from McAuley High School in 1970 and also attended MSSU.
He is survived by, Barbara McElwain; one daughter, Katrina Naghi; four grandchildren and numerous friends.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Gloria Miller.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at St Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, Joplin, Missouri with Fr. J. Friedel officiating. Burial will follow at Pulaskifield Cemetery near Pierce City, Missouri. Rosary services will be 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary chapel with visitation following until 8:00 p.m.
