Whitney Nicole Barker, age 22, of Osceola, NE, formerly of rural Pierce City, MO attained her angel wings on Monday, January 4, 2016. Whitney was a joy to her family and those who knew her. She had a loving aura and was truly a child of God.
Whitney is survived by the following: her parents, Shon and Melissa Barker of Osceola, NE; her sister, Becky Ewing (Jerad) and niece and nephew, Emrald and Connor Ewing of Springfield, MO; her brothers, Zak Abramovitz (Kyla Freeman) and Tyler Abramovitz (Bethany Phillips) all of Pierce City, MO, and Shonjames Barker of Joplin, MO; grandmothers, Catherine Keeney of Springfield, MO and Anne Barker of Carthage, MO; several aunts and uncles; many cousins; and those that had the privilege of caring for her when her parents worked.
The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, January 8, 2016. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Lakin Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Munster and Bishop Bob Kicker officiating. Burial will be in the Muncie Chapel Cemetery near Wheaton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St Jude’s Children's Hospital.
