Marion Moffett

Marion O. Moffet, Jr., of Jasper, Missouri, passed away at 3:02 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Mercy Hospital.

Descendants of Joplin's, E. R. Moffet, Marion was born January 15, 1935 in Joplin to the late Marion O. Moffet, Sr. and Freda M. Williams Moffet and had lived in the area most of his life.

He worked as a carpenter most of his adult life and was a member of the Carpenter's Local #311, Joplin and the Elks Lodge #501. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having attained the rank of Sergeant Major.

In addition to his parents, Marion was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine; a daughter, Leslie Fuller and his sister, June Smith.

Survivors include his son-in-law, Michael Fuller, Joplin; two grandchildren, Jared Fuller and Mallory Hill and her husband, Khyle; step sons, Mike Tiller of Nebraska, Ron and wife, Rhonda Tiller of Carthage, Jeff and wife, Sheila Tiller of Georgia; nieces and nephews, Nancy Orton, Joplin, Susan McClure, Ft. Scott, Kathy Whittman, Lees Summit, Missouri, Janice Crissup, Lawrenceville, Georgia, Carol Ring, Charleston, South Carolina, Ron Bassett, Joplin, Richard Bassett, Sparks, Nevada and David Smith, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.

Graveside services are planned for Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Jeff Martin will officiate. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
