Martha Lou Dyer, age 90, of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Friday January 8, 2016, at the home of her care giver for the last seven years, Pat Barnards, following an illness.
Martha was born on November 29, 1925 in Joplin, the daughter of the late John and Irene (Taylor) Dyer. She has been a lifetime area resident. She worked forty-three years as an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Martha was a member of Galena Assembly of God. She loved to travel and do water aerobics at the Y.M.C.A.
She is survived by two cousins, Mildred Marshall and Helen Heman, both of Carthage, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Vivian Dyer and Mary Ellen Dyer.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Reverend Clyde McClain will officiate. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery. The visitation will be open during regular visiting hours.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
