M. Katherine “Kathy” Pierson, 85, passed away 12:40 p.m. Saturday January 24, 2016 in Monett, Missouri.
Kathy was born December 12, 1930 in Carthage, MO. She was the daughter of Cleo C. Powell and Evelyn m. “Keller” Powell. Kathy was a lifelong resident of Carthage. She was a homemaker and a member of the Fairview Christian Church in Carthage.
Kathy was united in marriage to M.J. Hunter in June of 1948, he preceded her in death March 1952. Kathy then married Max E. Pierson on April 4 1953 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2008. Survivors include two sons; Daniel M Pierson of McCall, ID and James H. Pierson of Canon City, CO, two daughters Debra Hall and husband Gary of Cassville, MO and Mary Floyd and husband Morris of Haysville, KS, 8 grandchildren Nettie, Ann, Jacob, Eli, Josh, Zach, Stephen and Sam, 9 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by one brother Bill Powell and one sister Donna Powell.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the Ulmer Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday prior to the services. Burial will be in Park Cemetery. Contributions may be sent to Cookson Hills Children Home or the Can-Do Senior Center in care of the Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences maybe sent at www.ulmerfh.com.
