Verda Mae Scott, 92 of Carthage, MO passed away January 15, 2016 at her home.
She was born May 24, 1923 in Seligman, Missouri to Columbus and Evelyn (Beaver) Dawson. Verda was a homemaker and was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Carthage.
Verda was united in marriage to Charley J. Scott on April 3, 1942 at Santa Rosa, California. He preceded her in death on November 24, 2008. Survivors include two sons, Ed Scott, and Barney Scott both of Carthage. Two sisters, Norma Hollaway, and Ruby Duncan both of Gravette, Arkansas. Four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and, nine great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Lindsay Dawson, two sisters, Nadine Pryar, Marjorie Buttig and a grandson, Jason Scott.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 1:30 P.M. at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, MO.. Burial will be in Fasken Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Gideon's International.
