Mrs. Ruth Aldona Whited, 88, of Joplin, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at her residences after a long illness.
Ruth entered this life on September 8, 1927, in Joplin, Missouri, to the late Fredrick Leroy and Lillie May (Flynn) Isbell. She was raised and attended school in Joplin. On June 12, 1946, while living in Texas, she was united in marriage to Robert E. Lee Whited and to this union one son was born. They resided a short time in Texas, before returning home to Joplin. She was employed by Rocketdyne and Safeway Bakery before beginning her twenty-three year career with Ameri-Source, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed attending church activities and was especially fond of children. She attended worship services at Glorious Church Outreach in Joplin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Whited, Sr. on April 30, 1976; and all of her siblings.
Ruth is survived by her son, Robert Whited, Jr. of Joplin, Missouri; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Whited are 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2016, at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin with Pastor David Pizinger officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri.
