Goldie Shields, 81, Carthage, MO, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at her home after a lengthy illness. Goldie Ivan Butler was born August 26, 1934 in Ozark, MO to the late James Butler and Josephine Mincks. Goldie worked as a nurse's aide at Maryetta’s Nursing Home and also worked as a cook. She married Billie Gene Shields in 1963; he preceded her in death on August 6, 1990. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carthage and also a member of TOPS Club.
Survivors include three sons; Tim (wife Narissa) Butler, Springfield, MO, Joe Allen Butler, Carthage, MO, and Danny Ray (wife Catherine) Shields, Carthage, MO; one sister; Carol Morris, Ozark, MO; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister, and two brothers.
Visitation will be held 6:00-7:00 pm, Monday, January 18, 2016 at Knell Mortuary. Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Knell Mortuary. Rev. John Davidson will officiate.
