Josephine Anna Block, 90 passed away January 24, 2016 in Carthage, Missouri.
Josephine was born May 24, 1925 in Carthage, MO to George Matthews and Esther (Henry) Matthews. Josephine was a lifetime Carthage resident and a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and sewing.
Josephine was united in marriage to Irvin H. Block June 21, 1941 in Carthage, MO. He survives. Josephine is survived by two daughters Barbara Linder and husband Ray of Golden City, MO, and Sylvia Bader and husband Bill of Carthage, two sons Walter Block and wife Sherry and Larry Block and wife Diana all of Carthage, eleven grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Josephine is preceded in death by her parents, and five sisters Juanita Joslen, Pauline Lambeth, Georgia Mae Richie, Virginia Taylor and Mary Ellen Matthews.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday January 29, 2016 at Ulmer Funeral Home, Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. January 29, 2016 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Diamond Cemetery. Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences can be made at www.ulmerfh.com.
