Carolyn Sue (Powell) Cook, 71, Granby, Missouri, entered into rest on June 11, 2017 at Freeman West ER in Joplin, following a sudden illness.
Carolyn was born Jan. 6, 1946 in Miami, OK, the daughter of Payton M. and Edith B. (Clark) Powell. She was a lifelong resident of the Granby area and graduated from Granby High School in 1964 and was a homemaker. She loved to quilt, garden and serve other people. She was an avid cook and loved being with her grandchildren and attending their ballgames. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Carolyn and Harold Cook were married on Aug. 30, 1962 at Miami, OK and he survives. Additional survivors include three children, Darren Cook and wife, Gina of Neosho; Chuck Cook and wife, Betsy of Granby and Amanda Cook of Granby; nine grandchildren, Payton Cook and wife, Tarah; Kayley Hutchens and husband, C. J.; Emma Cook, Jackson Cook, Kaytlyn Cook, Luke Cook, Halle Cook, Joshua Litchfield and Brodie Litchfield; one great grandson, Hunter Hutchens and a great grandchild due to arrive in January, 2018; one brother, Chris Powell and wife, Judy of Granby and three sisters, Sharon Mosley and husband, Larry of Monett; Debbie Blaylock and husband, Ron of Exeter and Vickie Goodnight and husband, Calvin of Granby. Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Stanley Powell; sister and brother in law, Louise and Max Lynch and brother in law and sister in law, Jack and RaNae Powell.
Services will be Friday, June 16, 2017 at 1 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Granby. Interment will follow in the Granby Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation Thursday evening from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Granby. The casket will be closed at service time to remain closed.
