Michael G Cook age 71 passed away Sunday, June 10, 2017 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, MO following an illness.
Mr Cook was born January 4, 1946 in Webb City, MO. His parents were Irvin D and Dorothy W (Newton) Cook.
After graduating from high school, he entered the US Navy, from 1964 – 1968. In the 1970’s he became a Missouri Highway Patrolman where he was stationed at Willow Springs, MO. When he moved back to the area, he was a firefighter for the City of Joplin, MO. He then worked several years in the carpet and flooring business as a salesman.
He was married to Carrol Stanley on October 16, 1968. She survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Michael G Cook II, Purcell, MO; one daughter, Kelli Lyon (husband, Randy), Carl Junction, MO; two grandchildren, Adyson Lyon and Gabriel Lyon; and two brothers, Darley Joe Cook (wife, Lois), Carl Junction, MO and David Cook (wife, Linda), Webb City, MO.
Michael was entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS for cremation. No services are planned at this time.
