(From Knell Mortuary)Dorothy Louise Shrewsbury, 85, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at her home. Dorothy was born January 22, 1936 in Jasper County, Missouri, the daughter of Ira Edward Baker and Mae Opal (Hicks) Baker. She was a 1953 graduate of Jasper High School, Jasper, Missouri.
She married John Shrewsbury on December 7, 1963 in Carthage.
Dorothy was employed with Butterball turkey plant and as a lab technician for McCune Brooks Hospital in Carthage. Dorothy loved being outside, working in her garden, and being around all her animals. She attended Fairview Christian Church in Carthage.
Survivors include her daughters, Vera Rector (Rick), Carthage, and Frances Cowart (Craig), Carthage; and a brother, George Baker, Carthage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; a son, Dale Frost; and two brothers, Leonard Baker and Edward Baker.
Graveside services will be held 2 pm, Friday, May 7, 2021 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Carthage. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary.
