(From Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home)Joel M. McRay, 40, of Parsons, passed away unexpectedly on the afternoon of Friday, January 6, 2023, at Labette Health.
Joel “JoelBob” Michael McRay was born on October 9, 1982, to Mark Allen and Connie Marie (Madl) McRay in Pittsburg. He grew up in Parsons where he made countless lifelong friends and became well-known in the community. Throughout his life, he was known as a man of many trades and was always willing to lend a helping hand to any in need.
His greatest enjoyments in life came from making memories with his children, having a good time, and making people laugh. He was notorious for being comfortable in any situation wearing only a pair of underwear, playing pranks on family and friends, and being the life of the party. A child at heart, he loved being outside riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers. Joel was known to have never met a stranger and was always ready to greet others with a smile and a hug. As the saying he loved goes, “We’re here for a good time, not a long time.

Two sons – Broc McRay of Webb City, Missouri
Abel McRay of Webb City, Missouri
One daughter – Raegan McRay of Webb City, Missouri
His father – Mark McRay (Angela) of Sunrise Beach, Missouri
His mother – Connie McRay of Parsons, Kansas
Two brothers – Brenden McRay (Brandi) of St. Paul, Kansas
Jordan McRay (Taylor) of Alamogordo, New Mexico
The memorial service will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2022, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. until the service begins.
