Bob Miner

Robert Spencer Miner, age 75, known affectionately by all as Bob, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2023, at his residence in Carl Junction, Missouri, following months of failing health. 

Born on October 16, 1947, in Columbia, Missouri, to the union of the late Lawrence “Buck” and Lorine (Spencer) Miner. Bob lived a full life marked by intelligence, wisdom, and an unwavering love for the outdoors.








Bob was a proud alumnus of Webb City High School, graduating with the class of 1965. He furthered his education at MSSC in Joplin, Missouri, where he earned his Bachelor's degree in 1969. True to his enterprising spirit, Bob was a self-employed entrepreneur for most of his life. He owned a bait shop and marina in Grove, Oklahoma, where he combined his love for the outdoors with his keen business acumen. After moving back home to Missouri, he owned and operated a car lot in Carterville.

Bob had a deep love for nature and the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and mowing lawns. He was a passionate supporter of Webb City Cardinal football, a pastime that brought him much joy. Bob was also a proud veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. This service to his country was a testament to his bravery and unwavering dedication to duty.








Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Minor. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Carey Moore Tignor, and her husband, Darin Watson, of Kansas City, Missouri. He was a doting grandfather to his two granddaughters, Alexia Walker and her husband, Dave, and Isabel Tignor. Bob is also survived by his sister, Patricia Martinez of Denton, Texas, and his best friend, Bill Kerr of Webb City, alongside a host of other family members and friends who will greatly miss his wisdom and company.

No formal services will be held. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri.
