Kathleen Jillann Mayes passed Tuesday morning October 3, 2023 surrounded by her daughters, Kit Metz and Katie Rattles.
She is preceded in death by her mother, father, and sister.
Kathy leaves behind her two daughters and sons-in-law, three grandsons and two granddaughters.
Kathy, better known as Mrs. Mayes to her many students, was dearly beloved in her classroom. She taught 8th Grade Reading with Joplin School District for twenty-eight years. The impact she leaves behind cannot be measured.
The family will have a visitation on Friday, October 6, 2023 from noon to 1pm followed by a closed ceremony.
