Tim Morgan

(From Ulmer Funeral Home)

Timothy Scott Morgan passed away at the age of 62 on Thursday, July 18, 2024, succumbing to his multifocal glioblastoma grade IV brain cancer. While our hearts mourn the loss,we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering.

Tim was born on April 16, 1962, in Dayton, Ohio. In 1974, the family moved to Carthage, Missouri. Tim was a middle child and often caused his mother a lot of headaches. One day, he cut his hair and told his mom the wind did it! He also poured dish soap into the Sonic water fountain on Central Ave, in Carthage, which made quite a mess—it even made it into the newspaper! He was proud of it.

In 1977, his mother married Ronald Houdyshell, and Tim gained 2 brothers, David and Joseph, and soon a third brother Ronald Jr. Tim loved teasing his brothers and teaching them funny tricks. He taught Joey how to do the “Fonz” with his thumbs up and a long stretched “Heeey.”

As a teen, he had various jobs, including working at Dairy Queen under his brother James’ supervision, where he enjoyed giving free ice cream to the pretty ladies, and also mopping blood from the turkey plant, which always kept him humble.

After graduating from Carthage Senior High in 1980, Tim attended Devry University in Kansas City, Missouri, to study electronics. Tim liked to remember how he would get imperfect pizzas from his mother’s work and sell them for a dollar—microwave-heated included! He also met many key friends who boosted his music passion.

After college, he and a few of his friends and classmates got jobs at AT&T in Dallas, Texas. Even though he moved back to Joplin, Missouri, a few times, Dallas became home. During one of his returns to Joplin, he worked at Cardinal Scale in Webb City, Missouri, where he was lucky enough to be offered training in IT. Once he completed his certification and learned the salary of an IT technician, he asked for a promotion but was denied. So, he left Cardinal Scale and moved back to Dallas. From there, his career grew exponentially. He went on to submit and get approval for two patents in his name for architecture of software in the IT field.

On December 16, 1997, Tim met his wife Natasha online, she lived in Montreal, Canada. Tim was quite the charmer, singing songs on the guitar, talking into the phone until early mornings, mailing mix tapes and pictures. On Holidays, he would invite her to different places around the US for them to visit together.

Tim and Natasha married on August 16, 2009, in Vermont. From the beginning, Tim adopted Luna, Natasha’s daughter, as his own. Tim and Natasha went on to have another daughter, Lennon.

Tim was predeceased by his half-brother Shane; his mother Angela Asher Houdyshell; his stepfather Ronald Houdyshell; his father James Willard Morgan; and his grandparents Willard and Mary Morgan.

He is survived by his wife Natasha; his daughters Luna and Lennon; his uncle Johnny Asher; his brother James and his wife Karla Morgan and their children Kyle and Kacy, along with her husband Derrek and their two children. His brother Randy Morgan and his wife Beth Cooper Morgan and their children Timothy James and his wife Alexis and their two children, Tom Furr and his wife, Emily and their four children, Noah Smith and his wife Lizzy and their child, and their daughter Brittany Dawn and her husband Taylor Oberley, and their six children. His brother David II Houdyshell and his wife Kristy and their daughter Chelsey, their sons, David III and his wife Natasha and three children, Austin, and Travis and his wife Melissa and their daughter. Tim’s brother, Joseph Houdyshell, and his fiancée Deborah
Mulloy, and their children: Kenzi and her husband, Blake Wilson and their six children. Karlie and her husband Ubaldo Rivera, and Tyler, their son Ian and their daughters Tara and Breann, and granddaughter Breklynn. His brother Ronald Houdyshell and wife Rhiannon Houdyshell as well as their son Asher. He is also survived by his parents-in- law, Micheline Ananiadès and Hubert Paris.

Tim was an amazing human being who brought joy to all he met. He loved to run, play guitar, write songs, read biographies and historical books, and watch all sports, especially baseball and the Olympics. Tim ran a few half-marathons in Dallas and in San Francisco. He also loved to party, especially with his brothers. He was always there when someone needed a hand. Tim died too young, and he will be missed.

He wished to be laid to rest next to his mom, his brother Shane, his stepfather Ronald Houdyshell, and his grandparents at Park Cemetery in Carthage, Missouri. The services will take place on Saturday, July 27, 2024. The visitation will be held at 1:00 pm, and the service at 2:00 pm at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri.
