(From Simpson Funeral Home)David Wayne Clifton left this earth on July 18, 2024 after a brief illness with cancer. David was born on July 6, 1970 in Joplin, MO to Glen Clifton and Barbara (Hurlburt) Clifton.
David graduated from Joplin High School in 1988. He owned and operated Inline Body and Big Rigs Paint & Body for many years. He also worked for Russ Moser and Bard & Bard Company. He married Teresa Woodward on October 23, 1999. David loved old cars and trucks. He never met a stranger and loved to make people laugh, even if he had to tell a made up story to do it.
He is survived by his loving wife Teresa; his two canine kids Bo and Josie; three sisters Melissa (Scott) Rosenberg of Joplin, Rebecca (Travis) Daggett of Joplin, and Jennifer (Everett) Renfro of Seneca; nieces and nephews; extended family; and an immeasurable number of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. The world will be a darker place without him in it.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20th from 6-8pm at Simpson Funeral Home in Carl Junction. Funeral services will be held 2pm on Sunday, July 21st at the Swars Prairie Baptist Church in Seneca (4482 DD Hwy, Seneca, MO) with a graveside committal at the Swars Prairie Baptist Cemetery.
