George DaVee

George Eliot DaVee, 71, of Radley, KS passed away on July 15, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by family.

He was born April 28, 1953, in Fairland, OK, the son of Myrl and Doris DaVee. George was raised in Radley, KS, and graduated from Girard High School in 1971. He served in the National Guard for six years. George worked at many printing manufacturers throughout his life including Forms Manufacturers, Inc. in Girard for 28 years before retiring.

George enjoyed gardening, camping, and fishing, and knew all the best fishing holes. He was a talented carpenter and enjoyed making flower boxes and other woodworking projects for family and friends. If there was anything that needed fixing, George wouldn't wait on anything to run and get the supplies to get it fixed. When he wasn't fishing or fixing, there wasn't anything George loved more than a game of rummy, especially when he was winning and could tease his wife and family about being the rummy master.

He married Brenda Fletcher DaVee in 2005, who loved and cared for him until the end; she survives of the home.

Additional survivors include his siblings: Ronnie McGuire (Margaret) of Fairland, OK, Rhoda Brown of Pittsburg, KS, Sandra Kirk of Wichita, KS, and Rudy McGuire (Susan) of Lamar, MO; his children: Misti DaVee Hall of Girard, KS and Josh DaVee (Juliann Morland DaVee) of Lawrence, KS; his stepchildren: Kimberly McGuire (Brian) of Pittsburg, KS and Jody Fletcher of Nashville, TN; his grandchildren: MarSean and Jamari Hall; his step-grandchildren: Hayden and Benjamin McGuire, and Miles and Elliot Fletcher along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors. He will be greatly missed.

There will be a celebration of life held at a later date.
