Ode to Utsav Pradhan

On July 20, 2024, Utsav Pradhan died peacefully in his sleep in Monett, MO.

Utsav was born at 10.35 am on Oct 09 ,1984 in Bhadrapur, Nepal, son of Jashoda (mom) and Uttam (dad) Pradhan. Growing up in many small towns in Jhapa, Utsav was naturally inclined to sports, cultural shows and academics. He attended elementary school in Siddhartha Sishu Sadan and finished his School Leaving Certificate exams from Little Flowers’ High School.

His passion for higher education drew him to Ace Institute of Management to complete his Bachelors in 2007 and to Fairmont State University, WV in 2008, and then to Park University, Parkville to finish his MBA in 2011.

Utsav will be remembered as a self-determined, humorous and gentle soul. He loved his family dearly. He was a great son, mama, bhanja, and to many brother-from-another-mother. He never budged away from helping anyone who needed one. His passion for music and dance was second to none. He was an avid Messi fan; loved cheering for Argentina, Man United, FC Barcelona and recently for KC Chiefs. He could never come in terms to supporting Real Madrid.

His lifelong dream of being an entrepreneur led him to Kansas City, MO and then to Joplin, MO.

On January 31, 2015, after many years of courting he was united in marriage with Shrishna. They lived together seventeen golden years. Utsav leaves behind his mom and dad, his twin sister Utsha Pradhan, brother-in-law Ranjit Pradhan, nephew and niece. He also leaves his beloved dog, Captain and cat Meow.

Your footsteps can never be filled, nor your love ever forgotten. The only thing deeper than the pain of losing you is the love you shared with us. They say life is what you make of it; and you made it beautiful.

The world has lost a beloved, gentle, kinder soul. May you find union in heaven with the ancestors. We will carry forward your love for family, friends and for humanity in general, in our hearts. A life filled with love is an inspiration to us all. Until we meet again. Thank you for everything. You were the beautiful melody in the rhythm of many of our lives. The music of your life lives on.
