(From Ozark Memorial Park Crematory)Donald R, Brister of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at the age of 80. He was born and raised in Centralia, Washington, to Robert and Dorothy Brister on September 27, 1943.
In 1966 Don married his wife Linda (Patterson) Brister who he met while they were both attending Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington. Don majored in business and Linda in Elementary Education. In that same year the couple relocated to Wichita, Kansas, to McConnell Air Force Base where Don served as crew commander of the Titan II Intercontinental Missile Program.
In 1970, Don and Linda moved to Joplin, Missouri, where Don continued his education at Ozark Christian College. In 1973 Don became the business manager there where he served for 11 years. After leaving OCC Don had several business interests in the Joplin area.
Don considered his relationship with Jesus to be an essential part of his life. He faithfully served the Lord in many capacities over his life and was always anxious to share about Jesus to all who would listen.
Don is survived by his wife Linda, whom he was married to for 58 years. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Dorothy Brister.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Park Plaza Christian Church August 5 at 10:30 am. All arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park of Joplin, Missouri.
