(From Potts Funeral Home)On this day, July 13, 2024, at 3:03am, Vernon Stewart Brewster passed away due to his declining health. He was 90 years old.
Born 10 September 1933, in Sedan, Kansas to Willard Clyde Brewster and Clara Madge Brewster. Vernon was living in Winfield, KS at the Cumbernauld Village Retirement Home at the time of his passing.
He was predeceased by his wife Betty and his brothers Otto Earl, James Delos, and Willard (Bud) Clyde Jr, and daughter-in-law Allisyn Brewster.
Vernon married Betty (Foote) on 6 August 1955, and they lived in Fredonia, KS, where he drove a semi delivery truck for a few years before moving to Cherryvale, KS and was working for the Union Gas Company before finally settling in Independence, KS. He worked for ICC and the 446-school district before retiring.
Vernon is survived by his sister Wilda Mae Guest, of Wichita, KS, his sister-in-law's Myrna Hale of Winchester, VA and Jane Brewster of Bartlesville, OK. He is survived by Jeri Marie Coldwell (David) of Wichita, Shelley Ann Smith (Randy) of Springfield, MO, Stuart Craig (Janet Bullock) of Independence, KS Charles Richard of Carl Junction, MO, and Kurtis Albert (Tera) of Broken Arrow, OK. Also surviving are his 5 grandchildren Christopher Smith (Amy), Lauren Krause (Jacob), Shelby Altizer (Ricky), Logan Brewster (Carrie), Evan Brewster and Destiny Bullock and 2 great grandchildren London and Tristan Smith, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and bullfrog hunting with friends.
In honoring Vernon's request there will not be any services.
