(From Derfelt Funeral Home)Mareana Mae Lloyd, age 81 of Pittsburg, passed away at 3:25 PM on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Mercy Hospital of Joplin, MO.
Mareana was born in Milo, MO on February 20, 1943 to the union of Marion R. "Bud" Shutters and Edna Mae (Eslinger) Shutters. She had lived in Nevada, MO and Kansas City, MO before moving to rural Columbus, KS in the mid 1960's. In the later 1980's, she moved to Baxter Springs, KS.
Most recently, she moved to Pittsburg, KS to be closer to her daughter. For many years, she worked at Walmart in Baxter Springs, and she retired from Celtron in Galena, KS in 2010. She enjoyed working on "paint by numbers" apps on her phone, playing dominoes, crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family.
She was united in marriage with John Richard Low in 1966. He preceded her in death in 1986. She later married Jerry Lloyd, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Charlotte Tomlinson; and one son, David Low.

She is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Hynes of Sarcoxie, MO, Janine Hayward of Galena, KS, Denise Graham of Pittsburg, KS; four sons, Fred Low (wife, Debbie) of Baxter Springs, Terry Low of Galena, Danny Low of Missouri, and John Stanley Low of Missouri; numerous grandchildren, including Jennifer Gurnee (husband, Shane Gurnee) and Dakota Low; and great-grandchildren Mathew Graham, Emily Gurnee, Gavin Gurnee, and Adam Gurnee.
Mrs. Lloyd has been entrusted to Derfelt's Baxter Chapel for cremation. The family will host a celebration of life at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
