Frances Quintana of Emporia, Kansas, passed away June 30, 2024. She was 89 years old.
Frances was born on April 3, 1935, on a farm near Peabody, Kansas, the daughter of Jacob and Anna (Wall) Seibel. She married Samuel Quintana in 1953 in Bartlesville, OK. Samuel passed away on May 29, 1994.
Survivors include daughters, Karen Henderson, Carthage, MO, Karla Quintana, Carthage, MO, Janet (Rodney) Haag, Emporia, KS; grandchildren, Paul Henderson, Melissa Henderson, Valerie Prince, and Anthony Haag; great grandchildren, Kohen Saxon, Kavin Saxon, Kylie Saxon, Athena Henderson, and Kaleb Prince.
Frances was employed as a baker for the school district in Bartlesville, OK, then later for the School District in Emporia, KS. When she moved to Shawnee, KS she was employed as an office assistant for the School Services Leasing Company in Shawnee. Frances was a member of the Red Hat Society in Emporia, KS. She loved gardening and planting flowers. Her true passion was her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was an amazing homemaker, baker, cook, decorator, and seamstress, making her children’s clothes by hand, and making their Barbie and doll clothes as well.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at the Didde Catholic Campus Center located at 1415 Merchant Street in Emporia, KS, with a visitation following the service. A private burial will take place later at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
