(From Lakin Funeral Home)Agnes Pauline Whitman, age 88, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at her home with family by her side. She was born in Wentworth, MO on Monday, August 12, 1935; daughter of James and Marie (Wecker) O'Hara.
Pauline was valedictorian of her class at Midway High School. She married Stanley J. Whitman on Saturday, November 26, 1955, at St. Agnes Catholic Church.
Pauline was a homemaker, helped with the farming business, and after raising her kids, went to work with high school classmate, Jack Henry. She started her early years at Jack Henry & Associates as a receptionist then moved into the accounting department as the company grew. Pauline retired after 17 years with the company.
She was a great seamstress, loved to cook and bake, enjoyed playing Scrabble and Wordle, and completed many crossword puzzles. Pauline completed the NCAA bracket each year and enjoyed watching to see how her predictions turned out during the tournament. She enjoyed her grandkids and looked forward to attending the Whitman family reunions. Pauline was a beloved aunt and will be missed by many. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the PCCW in Pierce City, MO.
Surviving are the following: six children, Ann (Darrel) Harris of Wheatland, WY, Larry (Debbie) Whitman of Willard, MO, Tricia Bachert of Pierce City, MO, Donna (Ed) Zumwinkel of Ballwin, MO; Jim (Jill) Whitman of Jenkins, MO, and Joan Johnson of Grove, OK; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Jim O'Hara; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Stone and Janice LaFramboise; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceding Pauline in death were her parents, James and Marie O'Hara; her husband, Stan Whitman; three brothers, Harold, Don, and Phillip O'Hara; and two sisters, Carol Heald and Rosie O'Hara.

Rosary Service will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City, MO on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 6:00 PM with visitation to follow from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City, MO on Friday, July 19, 2024, beginning at 10:30 AM with Father Mike McDevitt officiating. Burial will follow at St Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Pierce City, MO.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made, in Pauline's memory, to St. Mary's Catholic School in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
