Billy Alsop


William "Billy" Alsop, aged 66, passed away on June 20, 2024, in Neosho, Missouri. Born on April 17, 1958, in Salinas, California, to William and Charlene (Haygood) Alsop. Billy was raised in Salinas, Ca in his very early years, family then moved to San Luis Obispo, Ca and he attended Laguna Jr High and San Luis Obispo Senior High school, where he excelled in Track and loved Baseball as well as formed lifelong friendships.

He was a great friend, loved a good joke and always on an adventure. He was a loving brother with a beautiful smile inherited by his dad. Billy was a great "Girls Dad", Even called one son! He was an avid Cardinal's fan. Always carried the memory of when his dad took him to a game.







After high school Billy enlisted in the Navy, where he proudly served. Following his military service, he left the navy life and joined his family in Nederland, Tx. This is where he met his future wife, Stella McKinney. Billy was cherished by many. He was a beacon of light and humor, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh.

Billy is survived by his loving wife, Stella, of 46 years, along with their children: Lisa Coberley (Zach) of Altamont, KS; Mary Ann Alsop and Crystal Potter, both of Stella, MO; and Jacob McKinney (Jaime) of Port Arthur, TX. His legacy continues through his seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life. Billy is also survived by his siblings, Susan LeBlanc (Sam) and Candace Kelley of Nederland, TX, A brother Ronnie Alsop of Atascadero, CA, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and their children.








He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Margaret Alsop; his sister's, Dartha Mae Kelley, Sandra Kelley; his grandson, Hayden Woodcock; and his mother-in-law, Eve McKinney.

Billy's legacy of love, service, and perseverance will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him. His family and friends mourn his loss but find comfort in their memories and the indelible mark he left on their lives.
