(From Ozark Funeral Home)MiChele Lynne (McIlvaine) Womack, age 52, of Southwest City, Missouri, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Wednesday morning, July 24, 2024, after a courageous nine-year battle with breast cancer. Born on September 1, 1971, in Neosho, Missouri, the third of five children born to William "Bill" and Lois (Damrill) McIlvaine.
MiChele was a graduate of Neosho High School, class of 1989. She furthered her education by attending Crowder College and MSSC. She held various positions at Walmart and Arvest/Great Southern Bank before finding her calling at McDonald County High School. There, she served as a secretary, library aide, and special education classroom para, touching the lives of countless students and colleagues with her kindness and compassion. She also worked a few years at Sugar Island.
MiChele's greatest joy and proudest achievement was her family. She is survived by her loving husband, David Womack of the home; her daughters, Rachel Keene and husband, Kent, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Christina Cory and husband, Tristin, of Springfield, Missouri; her sons, Levi Womack and wife, Kaitlynne, also of Springfield, and Justin Womack of Southwest City; and her treasured granddaughter, McKenna Keene. MiChele's legacy of love and nurturing also lives on through her parents, William "Bill" and Lois McIlvaine of Neosho; her brothers, David McIlvaine and wife, Melissa, and Brian McIlvaine and wife, Debra, both of Neosho; her sisters, Lori McIlvaine of Neosho and Angel Hill and husband, Darrin, of Grove, Oklahoma; her special aunt, Debbie "Momma Debbie" Smith of Grove; as well as her six nieces, three nephews, two great-nieces, and four great-nephews, along with a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
Preceding her in death were her grandparents, Cody and Frances McIlvaine, Ralph and Annie Damrill, Juanita Green and Nadine Butler-Martin; grandparents-in-law, Bus and Betty Womack and Helen Robertson; and her sister, Christina LeAnn McIlvaine.
MiChele's interests and passions were as diverse as they were heartfelt. She was the mastermind behind the legendary "Aunt Chele Boot Camp," a testament to her playful spirit and her commitment to family. Her role as a mother to her two beautiful daughters and two tall sons, was filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. As a grandmother, she cherished every moment spent with her granddaughter, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the Full Gospel Church in Southwest City, Missouri with Pastors JR Morgan and Russell Brisco officiating. Burial will follow at Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are David Womack, Jim Womack, Kent Keene, Tristin Cory, Brian McIlvaine, David McIlvaine, Stephen McIlvaine and Brandon McIlvaine. Memorials are being directed to Relay For Life c/o the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
