(From Clark Funeral Home)Eileen F. Wilson, born on December 30, 1933, in Providence, Rhode Island, entered into rest on July 14, 2024, in Neosho, Missouri, at the age of 90.
Eileen graduated from Hope High School in Providence. She later moved to California, where she worked as a dispatcher for the Carpinteria Fire Department in Carpinteria, California, and then as an administrative secretary for the Santa Barbara Regional offices in Santa Barbara, California. In 1994, Eileen and her husband, Heber, moved to Neosho from California.
Eileen was an avid collector of dolls, created hand-cut silhouette portraits, was a wonderful cook, and a very loving mother and grandmother. She was a former member of the Eastern Star and the New Century Club. Eileen was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Neosho, where she worked with the children’s ministry and served as a regional moderator for Presbyterian Women.
On May 21, 1955, in Santa Monica, California, Eileen married Heber Oswald Wilson, Jr. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2019.
Eileen is survived by four children: Guy Wilson of Ventura, California; Kent Wilson and wife, Diane, of Neosho; Pamela Forshey and husband, Lee, of Lompoc, California; and Deborah Gould and husband, Tim, of Joplin, and a bonus daughter, Susan Watson and husband, Chris, of Englewood, Florida; eleven grandchildren: Kyle, Mindy, Chelsea, Jennifer, Tyler, Ariane, Kristin, Ashley, Kelsey, Christa, and Christian; and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Medora (Brunnell) Britton, and her sister, Marilyn.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Neosho. Interment will follow in the Neosho IOOF Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Guy Wilson, Kent Wilson, Tim Gould, Tyler Wilson, Lee Forshey, and Chris Watson. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
