Walter Gire

Walter Lewis Gintz "Gire", age 75, of Lamar, Missouri passed away March 10, 2025.

Walter was born October 25, 1949 in Marshfield, Missouri to Arnold Lewis Gintz and Wilma Mae (Maddux) Gintz.

Walter spent many years working as a janitor at Lamar Enterprises where he was a familiar face. Walter enjoyed spending his time outside of work, outdoors on the swing set, he would spend hours at a time out there. Anyone that knew Walter, knew he loved listening to music and would always be listening to his radio, which all was done with the company of his dog, Harry. Walter will be missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include two sisters, Brenda (Kendall) Gire of Lamar, MO., and Leslie Bogart of Sheldon, Missouri along with many nieces and nephews and extended family who will miss him greatly.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents; his bonus mother, Bonnie Gintz; brother-in-law, Larry Bogart and beloved niece, Cheryl Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 14, 2025, at Daniel Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. ~ 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested and should be made payable to either Lamar Enterprises or the American Cancer Society in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
