Robert ( Bob) George Teegardin, 87, of Clever, Missouri, passed away after a hard fought and courageously faced long illness March 27, 2026.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carolyn Sue (Lyons) Teegardin of the home; daughter Melody Teegardin of Willard, Missouri ; Zach Nusse of Billings Missouri; Granddaughter Vivian Sarah Conway, her husband David Michael Conway and a Great Granddaughter Violet Ever Conway.

Bob is also survived by his brother Jack Teegardin and his wife Linda of Leesburg, Florida ; John Teegardin and his wife Linda of Carthage Missouri; and many more beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends. A special mention of his dear departed friend and brother-in-law Bill Prater of Carthage Missouri.

Bob was born to Helen and Ray on September 8, 1938 in Eureka Kansas , in his parents' home on their farm. Growing up with two brothers on a large farm made for a lot of fun family stories to tell the younger generations at family reunions. It was there in a one room school house the boys attended school. In 1953 The Teegardins sold the family farm, moved to Carthage Missouri to own and operate a Sinclair Gas Station there. With three young boys in tow they were put to work in the gas station. With farming equipment to fix and experience at the Sinclair Station this is most likely where Bob began his training to be the expert mechanic he was.

It was around that time that young Robert (age 15) was introduced to his future wife Carolyn Lyons (Age 14). Although smitten, they were young and there was more for Robert to do and a big world to see, he joined the United States Navy serving from 1956 to 1959, patrolling the seas of Japan and Hong Kong.

After being discharged with honors from the Navy, Bob returned to Carthage and it was there he reconnected with Carolyn and they were married there on February 6, 1960. Shortly after the wedding they moved to Springfield Missouri where Bob became employed with Producer’s Creamery as a maintenance engineer in the early 1960’s. It was during this time he studied evenings and achieved four licenses for Pilot, Private , Instructor and Commercial skill level. He served as a flight instructor at the Springfield Municipal Airport in the late 1960’s. During this time Bob again studied for certifications required for crop dusting, purchased a Piper Pawnee Crop Duster Airplane and he and Carolyn launched Teegardin’s Aerial Spraying and Seeding which they ran until he retired . After retirement Carolyn and Bob bought 200 acres in Fordland, Missouri and established a cattle farm later building a home there in 1982 . They moved to their last home in Clever Missouri in 2004.

Robert was a hard worker, industrious and creative. He could fix anything. After retirement he made wood furniture, wood toys for the grandchildren , was a miniature train hobbyist, collected/sold antique cars, was a gun collector, and an expert pool player. He could even juggle circus balls for family entertainment! Bob loved to go fishing and floating the rivers with his best buddy, Grandson Zach. He loved to take his Granddaughter Vivian horseback riding or would pull his Grandchildren in a wagon behind the tractor all over the hills of his farm. He taught his daughter’s how to shoot skeet, change a tire and ride quarter horses to work cattle. Bob and Carolyn, with their daughters in the rumble seat, would take summer evening drives in their 1931 Model-A Ford. Most of all his love and devotion to his wife Carolyn and his family was expressed by him every day.

He was known for his quick wit , humorous antics and love of chocolate crème pie. Bob had a special relationship of fun and respect with his brother by marriage Steve Lyons. Bob expressed much gratitude and affection for his Grandson by marriage David Conway. He shared so many happy memories and good meals with his wife’s sisters, Bonnie and Sharon and all their wonderful families. Kim is making pies for him in Heaven we are sure of that. He loved being with his children, grandchildren and extended family.

Fly high Sky King. We will miss you so very very much. God has taken you home.
