(From Clark Funeral Home)Donna (Broyles) Brewer, 91, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, one day after her birthday.
She was born on April 12, 1935, to Frank and Flossie Broyles. Donna was a graduate from Welch High School.
On March 1, 1951, she married her beloved husband, Durward “Doc” Brewer. Together they built a business and a place for communities to come together and make memories with family and friends. They owned and operated Skateland in Monett, Missouri, beginning in 1980, later opening a second location in Neosho from 1989 to 2000.
Donna was an avid traveler, exploring 30 countries and 7 continents. At home, she had many houseplants, where she was able to use her green thumb.
She was a Cub Scout leader in years past. Donna showed her love in the most genuine way and wasn’t concerned with fancy meals, but she made certain no one ever left her home hungry. Her homemade blackberry and raspberry preserves were a special treasure as Christmas gifts and they are remembered fondly by all who were lucky enough to taste them.
Donna had a quiet, endearing way about her like reading the newspaper every single day. Her children described how she would create a small rip in the newspaper, so they would know she read that copy for the day. It was the unique, little things that made Donna who she was and who her children will remember as their dear mother.
She is survived by her children: Don Brewer of Pottsboro, Texas; Gary Brewer of Joplin, Missouri; and Catherine Stockton of Neosho, Missouri; nine grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Durward; her son, Wes; daughter-in-law, Audrey; her parents; and her siblings.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Clark Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2026, also at Clark Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
