(From Ulmer Funeral Home)Janie Lou Willis, 83, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on April 12, 2026.
She was born on July 25, 1942, in Welch, Oklahoma, to Charles Vernon and Edith Malone. She was united in marriage to Harold Eugene Willis October 12, 1961, in Mound Valley Church, in Miami, Oklahoma.; he preceded her in death.
Janie graduated from cosmetology school and went on to work as a cosmetologist and an over-the-road truck driver with Harold, her husband.
She had a love for sewing and crafting and found great joy in spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the care she showed to those around her.
She is survived by her daughter, Jamie and husband, Colin, of Carthage, Missouri; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Franklin Malone.
A private celebration of life will be held for the family. Janie will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
