Robert “Bob” Talley, passed away June 18, 2019 with his family at his side at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo.
Bob was born on June 8, 1946 in Noel, Mo. to the late Henry and Martha (Ladusaw) Talley. He was a 1964 graduate of Diamond High School. He was a machinist and worked at Vickers, then F.A.G. Bearing. He was in the National Guard for 6 years. Bob was a member of College Heights Christian Church. Bob was known as a generous man with a big heart. He was always the “go to” person to ask how to do something and was also always very willing to help. Bob enjoyed driving his horses and ponies. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
On June 22, 1968, he married Cheryl Janes in Joplin. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son; Bryan Talley of Diamond, a daughter; Melissa Ayton and husband Scott of Joplin, four grandchildren; Lauren, Tallie, Gracie and Sophie, five brothers; Bill (Mary Jane), Dave (Barb), and John Talley, all of Carthage, Mo., Steve Talley (Olive) of Webb City, Mo., and Paul Talley of Joplin, many nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Talley.
The family requests donations to be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in care of the mortuary.
Memorial services have been scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial of ashes will immediately follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Carthage. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
