Corey Ellis

Corey L. Ellis, age 49, of Joplin, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at his home. Mr. Ellis, son of the late Leroy and Irene (Gipson) Ellis, was born on September 1, 1969 in Midland, Tx.

On December 31, 1994, he was united in marriage to Amy Bozarth, whom survives. He moved to Joplin in 2001 after he was a disc jockey in various cities including Midland, Topeka, and Kansas City. He was known locally for his morning co-host position on Rock 105. Corey loved to fish, the Dallas Cowboys, NBA Basketball, and visiting casinos. 








Survivors include his wife, Amy Bozarth, of Joplin; and one son, Chad Ellis, of Joplin; three brothers, Roger Ellis, of Florida, Mike Ellis, of White City, OR, and Craig Ellis, of Texas; three sisters, Rosemary Burditt, Peggy Lee, and Anita Graves, all of Midland, TX. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Ellis Jr.; and two sisters, Barbara Brackens, and Laverne Ellis.

The family requests contributions be given to help defer medical expenses for the family and may be made to a memorial fund that has been established at Arvest Bank, please make payable to Amy Bozarth, in care of the mortuary. A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary, Joplin.
