Ricky Dale Gipson, 56, of Galena, KS passed from this life on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, MO surrounded by his family.
Ricky was born February 14, 1963 in Baxter Springs, KS to Roger Dale Gipson and Danetta Jean (Wheeler) Harper. He grew up in Joplin, MO and graduated from Parkwood High School.
Ricky enjoyed listening to classic rock and watching videos on YouTube. He had a vast knowledge of random history. He was always fascinated with cars and watching different racing events. He very much enjoyed telling stories and joking with those he loved.
Ricky is survived by his mother and stepfather, Danetta and Fred Harper of Galena, KS; father, Roger Gipson of Texas; daughter, Emily Gipson of Joplin, MO; sister, Shelly Gipson of Baxter Springs, KS; and his favorite cat, Callie.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel. Pastor Jeff D. Martin will officiate. Burial of ashes will be in the Baxter Springs Cemetery.
