William Michael "Mike" Brown, age 68, Joplin, passed away with his family by his side, on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Freeman West in Joplin.
Mike was born September 17, 1950 in Pittsburg, Kansas, son of the late William E. Brown and Norma June Dawson Brown. He lived in Texas before returning to Carl Junction in 1968 where he graduated from Carl Junction High School in 1970. He attended Kansas Automotive School in Wichita, Kansas and moved to Asbury, Missouri in 1972 where he started his family. He and his dad formed B.L.S. Industries in Waco, Missouri, which he ran for over 40 years before retiring in 2015 as Vice President. He worked throughout the years as a farmer, rancher, mechanic, and machinist. He loved his time at the beach house on Grand Lake where he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and fishing.
He married Patricia Ann Kruse on February 5, 1972, she survives.
In addition to his wife Pattye, Mike is survived by his children, Jason Brown (Jessi) of Weir, Kansas, Kimberly Ann Davenport (Kyle) of Carl Junction, Missouri, and Ashley Dees (Landon) of Rose Hill, Kansas; grandchildren, Konnar, Claire, Kooper, Braylon, Jude, and Quinton; a brother, Tom Brown (Shirley) of Trophey Club, Texas; sisters, Brenda Waterman (Mark) and LeAnn Shallenburger (Dan) all of Carl Junction; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on July 5th, at 10:00 with burial of his ashes in Blackjack Cemetery, and visitation after service at B.L.S Shop.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to the Blackjack Cemetery Association.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
