Charles T. Misner, age 88 of Joplin, Mo. passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Joplin Health & Rehab following an illness.
Charles was born on January 24, 1931 in Oakland, Mo., the son of Francis “Bunn” and Marie (Moore) Misner. He proudly served his country as part of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Following his service, Charles worked as a postman for U.S. Postal Service until he retired in 1993. He attended Community Chapel in Joplin.
He married Carol Burk on November 30, 1957, and they have been happily married for 61 years, she survives. Additional survivors include his son; Kevin Misner and wife Debbie of Joplin, a daughter; Kim Hounschell and husband Jim of Joplin, his daughter-in-law, Tracy of Joplin, Mo., a brother; Melvin Misner and wife Iva of Webb City, Mo., 5 grandchildren; Chris, Corey, Drew, Travis and Amy, and 4 great-grandchildren; Lexie, Jamison, Kelton and Lilly. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jeffrey Misner, and 2 sisters, Eva Southern and Bonnie Bever.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Pastor Jeff Jones will officiate. Burial will follow at Carterville Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Chris Misner, Drew Misner, Corey Houhschell, Travis Griffin, Kevin Misner, Doug Gladden, Scott Gladden.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
