Roy Dalton

Roy L. Dalton, age 89 of Joplin, Mo., passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019 at The Arbors following an illness.

Roy was born on April 30, 1930 in Anderson, Mo. to John H. and Sarah E. (Hutchison) Dalton. He has lived in Joplin since 1955. He was a Civil Service employee of the Missouri National Guard and was a Command Administrative Specialist for the 203rd Engineer Battalion. He served in this capacity for 33 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the 203rd Engineer Battalion, Missouri National Guard, having enlisted on August 4, 1947 and served 43 years, retiring in 1990 as a Chief Warrant Officer W-4.

He married Betty P. Roark on May 17, 1952, she preceded him in death on November 12, 2014. Roy was also preceded by his parents, a daughter, Julianne Dalton Sprouse, 7 brothers, William “Junior” Dalton, James Dalton, Staff Sgt. Albert “Babe” Dalton, Abraham Dalton, Thomas Dalton, Robert “Bob” Dalton and Buck Dalton, and four sisters, Phyllis Trenary, Ruth Oxley, Mary Lou Dotson and Helen Savage.








Roy is survived by his son; William Dalton and wife Cheryl of Monkey Island, Ok., five grandchildren; Jared Williams and wife Johnna, Britni Williams, Macyn Sheahan and husband Brian, Ryan Dalton and wife Erin, William Chad Dalton, five great-grandchildren; Hayden Dalton, Dalton Williams, Alexis Williams, Bailey Clement and Casady Clement, and one great-great-granddaughter, Ella.

Services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2019 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Burial will follow at Anderson Cemetery in Anderson, Mo. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
