Donald Norman Stidham, age 66, passed away at 8:17 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2019 at Freeman West Hospital Joplin, MO. following a sudden illness.
Don was born November 7, 1952 in Joplin, MO. His parents were Johnny and Mary (Moser) Stidham. He had lived in rural Neosho, MO. for the past 25 years moving from Joplin, MO.
Don graduated from Galena High School with the Class of 1970. Don was employed as a truck driver for Fleming Foods for over 30 years. Don also owned and operated Stidham’s Custom Fencing and Baling Company.
Don was a member of the Racine Christian Church in Racine, MO. Don had also been a member of the Seneca Bent Arrow Bow Club and the Joplin Bow Club. Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and always looked forward to his yearly trip to Canada.
Don was married to Donna Lee Stubblefield on December 16, 1978 in Joplin, MO. She survives.
Additional survivors include one son, Brandon Stidham and wife April of Neosho, MO.; one daughter, Kara (Stidham) North and husband Ryan of Riverton, KS.; 6 grandchildren, Abigail, Isabel, and Wyatt Stidham, Marlee, Jordan, and Raylan North; 4 brothers, Frank Stidham and wife Sherrie, Carl Junction, MO.; Leslie Stidham and wife Lisa of Peachtree, GA.; Harold “Scrap” Stidham and wife Debbie of Carl Junction, MO.; and Ted Stidham and wife Teresa of Galena, KS.; and many nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his mother–in-law, Lily Stubblefield, and one brother, Johnny Stidham.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS. Private graveside services will occur at Oak Hill Cemetery, Galena, KS. at a later date.
