Jay Hunt

Jimmie Robert “Jay” Hunt, 51, of Golden City, Mo passed away on Sunday June 16, 2019 in his home surrounded by his wife and daughters. Jay was born May 4, 1968 in El Dorado Springs, Mo to Jimmie Albert and Wilma Maxine Hunt; one of four children. Jay was a lifelong resident of the Jerico Springs area. He retired from IWX Trucking Company after 18 years and approximately two million safety miles.

Jay is survived by his wife Lisa who he married on September 7, 2016 in a small private ceremony. He is survived by three daughters; Nicky and husband Ross Rinkenbaugh of Carrollton, Mo, Alisha and husband Colton Sharp of Jerico Springs Mo, and Jessie and significant other Austin Jones of Bolivar Mo. Stepchildren Elise, Rachel, and Ryan Sheets, one sister Sherri and Husband David Reid of Miller, one brother Eric Hunt of Jerico Springs, father Jimmie and Stepmother Sharon Hunt of Golden City, and eight grandbabies who adored and were adored by Papa Jay.

Preceded in death by his brother Brent Hunt and mother Maxine Hunt.







Jay was a lover of many hobbies but spending time with family was what he enjoyed most. Hobbies he enjoyed most were hunting with his little shadow Alisha, tinkering on cars with Nicky by his side, and wreaking havoc with his partner in crime Jessie. He always made time for dirty joke telling, fishing, and guitar picking with close family and friends.

Jay’s visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 pm Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Daniel Funeral Home in Lamar, MO.

Private family burial will be in Hamby Cemetery, Olympia, MO.
