Richard K. Brewer, 75, Neosho, MO peacefully entered into rest on June 15, 2019 after an extended illness. Richard was born March 2, 1944 in Neosho to Richard M. and Edna R. (Vice) Brewer.
He was a lifelong Neosho resident, graduating from Neosho High School in 1962. Richard served in the Army National Guard for eleven years. While still in high school, Richard began working at Clark Funeral Home; he worked there as a funeral director and with the ambulance service for eighteen years until he and his wife purchased the England Monument Company in 1976, whereupon they changed the name to Brewer-England Monument Company. That business was sold in 2007, and Richard returned to Clark Funeral Home, working part time for several years until his health prevented it. Richard was a longtime Ducks Unlimited volunteer, serving as Neosho area chairman and Missouri State officer, and receiving numerous awards for his service. He was also a former, longtime Lion’s Club member, where he served as President and many years as Treasurer.
Richard and Mary Ann (Varney) Brewer were married March 10, 1971 in Neosho, MO; she survives of the home. He is also survived by four children, Darren Buttram, Susie Buttram Jones, Charles Buttram, and Rita Burton; one sister, Donna Fritts; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by one sister, Dora Marie Allen in 2000.

Graveside services, with full military honors, will be held 10 am Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Neosho IOOF Cemetery. Dr. Jerry Seigel will officiate. A time of visitation will be held from 5 pm until 7 pm Wednesday, June 19 at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, MO.
