Alvin Temple Harris Jr., 70, of Baxter Springs, KS passed from this life suddenly on Monday, September 2, 2019 at his home.
Alvin was born February 6, 1949 in Baxter Springs, KS to the union of Alvin Temple and Ruth (Hulsey) Harris. Alvin worked as an accountant for the Kansas State Telephone Co., and later the Kanokla Telephone Association, retiring in 1997. Alvin enjoyed target shooting, off roading and riding motorcycles when his health allowed. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Baxter Springs, KS.
Alvin is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lorraine Hamlin; two brother’s-in-law, Bill Reavis and Leon Hamlin.
Alvin is survived by one son, Andrew Harris and wife Betsy of Pueblo, CO; sister, Mary Reavis of Joplin, MO; brother, Charles Harris and wife Fern of Kansas City; along with several extended family and friends.
Alvin has been entrusted to Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel for cremation. No formal services are planned at this time in honor of Alvin’s wishes. Online condolences may be expressed at www.derfeltfuneralhomes.com.
