Betty Kay Sparks, age 66, of Lockwood, MO died August 23, 2019 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO after a long battle with cancer.
Betty was born January 12, 1953 to George Elliott and Nora (LaDuke) Elliott in Clinton, MO and grew up in Clinton. She graduated as an LPN from Warrensburg Vo-Tech in 1991.
On November 3, 1995 she married Richard Sparks in Lamar, MO. She had worked at Golden Valley Hospital, Westwood Living Center, both in Clinton, MO as well as Truman Healthcare Center for many years, and most recently Casey’s General Store in Lockwood.
Betty loved her animals, loved the great outdoors and catching fish. Spending time with her grandbaby’s, great-grandbaby’s and other family members is what gave her the greatest joy.
Survivors include a son, Steve Ross, Lockwood, MO; a daughter, Charlene Peck (Matt Callahan), Springfield, MO; a stepson, Kenneth (Neta) Hahn, Lockwood, MO; two stepdaughters, Paula Black, Brandenton, FL and Cathy (Danny) Trent, Lockwood, MO; her mother, Nora Elliott, Clinton, MO; three brothers, Charley Elliott, Clinton, MO, Norman Elliott, Holden, MO and Eddie Elliott, Arkansas; one Sister Ellen Elliott (Leonard Baumgarden), Deepwater, MO; 30 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her father, George Elliott, a brother, Chuck Elliott, and an infant sister, Norene Elliott.
A Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2019 at the Burton Leadership Center, 578 East Highway T, Lamar, MO with Erick Burton officiating.
