Bradley "Brad" Wayne McClintock, 53, of Hot Springs, passed away on Friday, Aug. 30, 2019 following a valiant battle with congestive heart failure.
Brad was born on Dec. 1, 1965, in Joplin, Mo. to Kenneth and Sharon Dillon McClintock.
Brad graduated from Webb City High School in 1984 and earned a BA in Graphic Communications from Missouri Southern State College in 1988. A gifted artist from an early age, Brad won numerous awards. He was also a professional musician, performing in multiple genres including Jazz, Rock, Praise, and Musical Theatre Orchestras. Brad could play any instrument his hands touched. He was a proud owner of an extensive Hot Wheels collection and was also a huge "Star Trek" fan. He was a great lover of WWII aircraft, model trains, astronomy, geekery, science fiction, spicy food, debates, and animals, particularly dogs.
On June 22, 1990, he married Kelly Mason in Arkansas and they had one son, Jude. Brad and Kelly met through music and it remained an important part of their family. After their marriage, they lived in Virginia Beach, Va., where Brad worked as a digital animator for military training simulators, one of his favorite jobs. Throughout their marriage, Brad and Kelly lived in Joplin, Mo., Northwest Arkansas, Virginia Beach, and Central Arkansas.
Brad served in his community through his artistic talents, involvement in youth ministries, and devotion to the Catholic faith. He was a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School team member, member of the Youth Ministry Core team, and served on the Hot Springs Catholic Youth Advisory Board. During his time with St. John's Catholic School he treasured being called "Mr. Brad." Brad's gentle spirit, sharp wit and hard work endeared him to everyone he met.
On Jan. 22, 2019, Brad was implanted with a Left Ventricular Assist Device as a bridge to a heart transplant. The Advanced Heart Failure/LVAD Team at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock became a treasured part of his extended family. #BradVad
