Martha Good

Martha Lea Good, 89, of Parsons, died at 6:37 A.M., Sunday, September 8, 2019 at her daughter’s home in Oronogo, where she had recently moved.

She was born on March 17, 1930 at Burden, KS, a daughter of Robert Lee and Alice Minnie (Plummer) Harris. She was raised in Burden and Winfield, and attended school there.

In October 1948 she was united in marriage to Roy Lee Barton at Newkirk, OK. He preceded her in death in 1975. She later married Walter Dwain Good on July 8, 1978 at Winfield, KS. He survives of the home.

Martha was a Certified Nurse’s Aide and had worked in nursing homes in Winfield. She moved to Parsons in the late 1960’s and was employed at the Labette County Medical Center for fifteen years. She late was employed at the former Arkhaven Nursing home at Altamont and Elmhaven West Nursing Home in Parsons. She retired in 2002 at the age of 72.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Parsons. She enjoyed camping and fishing.








In addition to her husband, survivors include: three sons – LeRoy Barton, Winfield, KS, Terry Barton, and his wife, Shaune, Kennewick, WA, Mike Good, and his wife, Jane, Parsons, Kansas; three daughters – Connie Yocum, and her husband, John Goldman, Oronogo, MO, Kay Ewan, Ketchum, OK, Kathy Barr, and her husband, Earnie, Parsons, KS; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; five brothers – Richard Harris, Anthony, KS, Robert Harris, Douglass, KS, Donnie Harris, Wellington, KS, Charles Harris, Douglass, KS, Irvin Harris, Green Valley, AZ. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter – Wendy Barr; one brother – Edward Harris and one sister – Mary Hanna.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Maria Foerscheler officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, held at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Memorials are suggested to the ALS Association, Mid-America Chapter.
