Martha Evalyn Maxwell, 86, passed away September 9, 2019. Martha was born March 25, 1933 in Golden City, MO to Lyman Kentner and Eva “Hastings” Kentner. Martha was a lifetime Carthage resident and was a switch board operator retiring from the Tri-State Motor Transit of Duenweg.
Martha was united in marriage to Carroll Edward Maxwell July 3, 1954 in Tulsa, OK; he preceded her in death November 1, 1999.
Martha is survived by four sons, Chad Maxwell, Curtis Maxwell, Craig Maxwell and Kelly Maxwell, all of Carthage; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one brother, Gary Kentner of Seattle, WA; two sisters, Mary Lollor of Colony, TX and Erma McGuire of Maple Grove, MO.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents and husband; one son, Jaimi Maxwell who preceded in death February 1, 2016; two sisters, Phyllis McGuire and Joan Tierney; two brothers, L.W. Kentner and J.C. Kentner; and one great granddaughter.
Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Ulmer Funeral Home.
