Florence Madeline Kitch, age 90, Galena, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Freeman West Hospital.
Florence was born February 10, 1927 in Galena, daughter of the late Reavis L. Hampson and Ethel Faye Dobson Hampson. She was a lifelong resident of Galena, and graduated from Galena High School. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Galena. She was the owner and operator of Katrina's Fashion in Galena for over 25 years.
In addition to her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Kitch, Sr., a daughter, Cheryl Shallenburger, brother, Charles Hampson, and two sisters, Maxine Poteet and Margaret Christman.
Survivors include her son, Lloyd Kitch, Jr. and wife Deborah of Galena; daughter, Pamela Lloyd of Riverton, Kansas; grandchildren, Michelle McCumber and husband Gerald, Angie Higgins and husband Chris, Jason Lloyd and wife Whitney, Jeff Kitch, Brian Shallenburger and wife Lisa, and Jerry Shallenburger; great-grandchildren, Dylan Higgins, Lakyn Shallenburger, Emmy Higgins, Laural Shallenburger, Luke Shallenburger, Lucy Lloyd, Sylvia Lloyd, and Wyatt Lloyd; several nieces and nephews include Dr. Chris Christman and Reva Hopkins; and her very good friend, Myra Carlisle Frazier.
Graveside services will be Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery, Galena, Kansas with Rev. Bob Dart and Pastor Michael Pearce officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Sunday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
