Peggy Opal Caler, 87, of Goodman, MO passed away on December 21, 2017 at Joplin Freeman Hospital.
Peggy was born October 19, 1930 in Riverside, CA to Floyd and Coral (Frazier) Gross. She retired from Retail Clerk Union in 1975 and moved to Goodman, MO. Upon her arrival to Missouri, she was employed by Nicsinger Band Uniform Company for approximately 10 years. She then worked at La Z Boy as a material handler for 14 years before full retirement. Peggy and her husband, James Caler raised and sold miniature horses in the four state area. She was also a member of the American Miniature Horse Association and AQHA. She was also a member of New Life Christian Church in Anderson, MO.
Peggy and James R. Caler were married on December 19, 1947 in Quartside, AZ. They were married for 46 years. James preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters, Patsy Phillips and Sandy Vaughn; brother, Don Gross and sister, Gloria Harvey, both of CA; four grandchildren, Todd Phillips, Brian Phillips, Christa Harris, and Justin Harris; two great granddaughters, Emily Phillips and Lanie Phillips.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2017 at 1 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Tom Ellis will officiate. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation from 5-7 pm on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Neosho Memorial Park Cemetery south of Neosho, MO.
