Daven Taylor Divine, age 31 of Joplin, Mo. passed away late Thursday, December 21, 2017. He died a hero, saving his wife and unborn child.
Daven was born on October 2, 1986 in Joplin, the son of Paul and Teresa (Stewart) Divine. He has been a lifetime area resident, Daven worked as a salesman for Frank Fletcher Pre-Owned Super Store. He was a member of Destiny Church. He enjoyed playing drums and baseball, watching KU Basketball, but above all, he loved playing with his kids and his family was his world. He loved his “Little Princess” and “G-man” more than words could ever describe. He was a provider, both spiritually and financially, and would always do anything for his family. Daven was an extremely hard worker, a lover of Jesus, and the best daddy, husband, son and brother in the world. It was always important to him to be a light for Jesus. He was also always passionate in every aspect of his life. In addition to loving his “blood” family whole-heartedly, he also loved his church family and work family dearly.
He married Skye Smith on June 1, 2013, she survives. Additional survivors a son; Graisen Brennan Divine, a daughter; Elliana Lyric Divine, both of the home, along with his unborn child due in May 2018, his parents; Paul and Teresa Divine of Joplin, and a sister; Amanda (Divine) Cooper and husband Peter and their two sons, Brody and Doyle, of Webb City, Mo. Daven was preceded in death by his brother, Brennan Divine on August 13, 2009.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Destiny Church. Pastors Gene Bebee, Tim Stewart, Dave Divine and Reverend J.D. Buckridge, will officiate. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Webb City. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at the mortuary during a time of visitation.
